2024 5K Celebration of Life- New Providence

Just Do It in Celebration of Joe D'Addio

Since Joe's passing approaching 15 years in April, we continue to celebrate him and the gifts he gave through organ and tissue donation at the 5K Celebration of Life. We hope you can join us on Sunday, June 9!

Please sign up or make a contribution on Alberta's page to support NJ Sharing Network's lifesaving mission. Your generosity continues to amaze us and truly helps saves lives.

Last year, Alyssa and I saw the below message that an important mentor and special friend of Joe's shared on social media. It still touches our hearts and helps us remember the man that helped so many.

"As Good Friday and Easter approach, I am reminded of a dear friend, Joe D'Addio. He unexpectedly passed on April 17, 2009. I had the good fortune to meet and work with him for +15 years. He was bigger than life and became a great colleague and ultimately dear friend. He was a friend to so many and was dearly loved by his family.

I find myself especially reflecting upon him at this time of every year. He had this habit of calling on Good Friday. His call was never about business but rather his desire to talk about family and life. The conversation would always start with a laugh, lead to sharing about family moments and finished with his wish for the Peace of Easter for me and my family. I miss those calls.

In the suddenness of his loss, Joe's foresight to become an organ donor turned tragedy into hope for many. His decision helped dozens of people through this gift. His daughter, Alyssa, has become a leader with the New Jersey Sharing Network, an awareness and advocacy agency for organ donation. I am certain Joe would be so proud of her and the legacy of hope she is creating.

In honor of my friend Joe, I ask how are you doing? I hope well and I wish the Peace of Easter for you and your family." - Chris K.
